About the Centre


Overview

St Joseph’s Education Centre is situated in the Gort Road Business Park. It was the first Traveller Training Centre to open in Ireland in 1973. St Joseph’s has 37 learners and 16 staff who work together in a friendly atmosphere.

Programmes are open to learners over 18 years of age from both Traveller and non Traveller communities. A wide variety of courses are on offer from Leaving Certificate Applied, to FETAC and leisure and special interest courses.

Centre Calendar and Timetable

The Centre operates for 209 days per year, and from 9:00 til 5:00 daily.

Learners

Opportunities to join the centre are advertised in local media and on this website. Potential learners are interviewed prior to being accepted on a course.

Learners receive a training allowance for attendance on courses and subject to eligibility travel and childcare allowances may also be paid.
