Programme 3 General Education and an Introduction to Hair Dressing
Level Level 3
Certification obtained Level 3 Certificate in General Learning FNFCX
Compulsory modules Maths, Communication, Personal Effectiveness
Additional modules may include IT, Personal Care & Presentation, Skin Care, Food and Nutrition, Food and Cookery, Craft Art, Craft Textiles, Wood Craft, Preparation for Work, Caring for Children, Art and Design, , Health Related Fitness, Introduction to the Internet, Living in a Diverse Society, Living Things in Their Environment, Parenting Skills etc.
Possible non-certified modules Leisure and Recreation, Health Education, Hairdressing, Introduction to Biology, Anatomy and Physiology etc.
Progression options Progression to further education options including FETAC level 4 and the Leaving Certificate
Duration Part-time, Sept 2010-May 2011
Entry Requirements Applicants must be an Early School Leaver;90% of places are offered to members of the Traveller Community.

Academic requirements:-
Applicants must have a high level of literacy. They must be able to read and write and have good maths skills.

Places are limited and will be allocated on the basis of prior qualifications/experience, aptitude to hairdressing, an interview and an assessment test.
Cost There is no cost for the course, some learners may be eligible to receive an allowance.
