Green Flag - November 24th 2010

Congratulations to the Environmental team at St Joseph's Education Centre who are preparing to fly their flag high. The Flag was awarded to St Joseph's team for all their hard work on the 'Litter and Waste' theme. They are currently working on the 'Energy' theme and will hope to apply for their second flag early next year. One of the projects undertaken last year was to get involved with An Taisce's National clean up. The team at St Joseph's collected almost ½ a tonne of rubbish around their local area. St Joseph's was one of the first Traveller Training Centres to be awarded the Green Flag. At the centre we are very committed to reducing waste, recycling and reusing resources as much as possible. In our engineering, woodwork and crafts we reuse materials in our projects. Recycling in the centre has been part of the daily routine for years and we are delighted to obtain the green flag in recognition of all the great work done to date. The flag raising event takes place on the 24th November to celebrate the awarding of the flag.
